Great skate coming from Bauer FlyLites
My son is 13 and just moved up to 14U, which means checking now, so we wanted skates that could actually hold up to that. He'd been in Bauer Flylites and honestly outgrew them in more ways than one. First thing he said after skating in these was how much stiffer they feel through the ankle, and he meant that as a compliment. The Flylites let his ankle roll a bit when he was pushing hard or cutting, these don't. He says he feels way more locked in, like the skate is actually part of his stride instead of just something his foot is sitting in. His edge control and stops have gotten noticeably better too, he can tell the difference when he's turning tight or stopping quick. We baked them for the fit and there was basically no break in period, he was comfortable in them almost immediately, which was nice since we didn't have a ton of time before his first practice at the new level. The tongue feels more responsive when he pushes off, he's noticed quicker acceleration compared to the Flylites. Really happy with these for what he needs going into a faster, more physical level of hockey. Would recommend.

Best skates I’ve owned
I bought these the day they came out, only spent 3 hours on them before a tournament a week later. They are so comfortable there was almost no break in time. 10/10 skate

Absolute game-changers (but give them time!)
I am absolutely in love with the new Warrior Alpha Pro skates, but you need to know one thing before you buy: the break-in period is real. These boots are incredibly stiff. If you aren’t used to a high-end, stiff boot, they will hurt at first. My very first session left my feet bruised, and it took about 6 to 8 skates before they finally felt comfortable. But once that break-in phase was over? Incredible. They are now deeply comfortable, and the performance payoff is massive. I’ve noticed a legitimate improvement in my on-ice speed and my overall ice feel. The power transfer is elite. If you get these, don't panic during week one. Push through the stiffness, because once they mold to your feet, they are easily some of the best skates on the market!

Great fit and feel, but needs refinement
As someone with wide, high-volume feet, these feel fantastic and fit me very well, but the tongue has some issues Pros: incredibly comfortable, VERY stiff but not too much, very good forward ankle flexion, steel looks and feels really high quality too. I love how they wrap around the ankle and they’re super stiff, but not overkill like trues Cons: the tongue seems really nice but the Velcro loop used to attach it just does not work well. It constantly pulls back to sit on top of the edge of the toe box and there’s really no room for adjustment. They also run surprisingly big, at least a half size. The .5 size in wide goes up a size in holder which is great, but mine looked just barely off center in the heel
