Great all around skate
I’m an older player returning to the game after 30 years. I originally bought 9x4 because I wanted high end skates as a kid and I have adult money now. They felt good but too stiff for my skill level so they didn’t make sense. I tried the 5x4 and they are great! Once baked they are super comfortable. Only change was super feet insoles because I have a high arch. I would prefer the True Genetix but can’t find them in my size. The only issue I had with the skates was one side was clicking when I walked in the runner. I contacted true for a warranty claim and they upgraded me to the DLC coated runners free.
So comfortable
I have been playing hockey tor 55 years and ownend many pairs of skates but there are by far the most comfortable skates I have ever owned. I baked them myself and had to do the right skate twice but now they feel awesome.
True skates
I’ve been playing hockey for 30 years, and these are, without a doubt, the most comfortable skates I’ve ever worn. I was a bit hesitant about switching from Bauer, but I’m so glad I made the change. The one-piece boot system on these skates is amazing – it provides such a solid, responsive feel on the ice. I’ve already skated in my new 5x4 skates a few times, and there’s practically no break-in period. I’m already thinking about getting another pair. Super stoked with my purchase, and Ice Warehouse is always my go-to site for hockey gear.
True 5X4
I tried to break the mold of Bauer and CCM and had my daughter try the True 5X4’s. First I love that True allowed a trial of the skate. It allows baking and test runs which is great. The skates are constructed great. Stitching is top notch the boot is made solid. Major issue is how heavy they feel. Whether or not it’s actually heavy I was able to weigh them but the real feedback was how much heavier they felt when compared. I wonder if it’s the blade holder or the blade? Otherwise really made well and I love the opportunity of testing the product.
