Even well used, still best skates I’ve used!
Solid skates, super lightweight! Very durable, I’ve blocked a couple hard shots on the toe and no broken bones to report yet! I bought these (very) well used, with new Hyperglide blades and they are holding up very well!
You need these!
I have been a Bauer guy my whole life. After 15 years off, I started playing again in my city league with a few buddies. I decided to splurge on these in hopes that they would make up for my advanced age, my obvious lack of fitness, and time away from the game. They did. After a few games getting used to the feel and the responsiveness, I was able to keep up with minimal to medium effort about 75% of the time. The biggest difference between these and a traditional boot, I would say, is the weight. These are LIGHT. They respond immediately, they are way more stable on tight, low turns at high speeds. But at the end of the day, you are literally paying a premium for less ish on the skate, and it is a worthwhile investment. Especially if you are an old, ex-player with moobs and a beer gut trying to get back out there and cause trouble. You need these, bro. Don't you even think about trotting your old Supremes out there like some boomer with dad-bod. Yeah, its a city league...but you still can't show up looking like you just stepped out of a black and white photo. These kids today, they only understand one thing...bright, shiny objects "are better than...like...old...uhhhh not shiny ones". They will spot you, they will exploit you, your team will start skipping you on the bench...telling you "you got the next one". Yeah right. They said that three line changes ago. Don't be that guy. You are better than that. Buy these skates and show these little pukes you still got it where it counts...in your cup. Also, make sure you swing by throw a couple ice packs in your cart before you check out. You old, mushy has-been. Gross.
Vacuum Tacks
I've skates in these since the 1970's.because of the gel pad forming to each ankle; an average skater becomes a very good skater if not great. All the pro(s) wear them because of how supportavive, lightweight and sharp the stay.
