The CCM JetSpeed FT870 player skates use a synthetic-composite 2D Metaframe boot with an ergonomic shape designed to provide comfort in a light, durable build. Inside, ADPT memory-foam ankle pads pair with an HD microfiber liner whose EVA layer is designed for comfort and a better fit, while the liner resists wear and tear. The Speedblade XS holder pairs with an XS1 runner and uses a spring-lock system to secure the blade while making blade changes more efficient.
The CCM JetSpeed FT870 combines a good fit with a comfortable feel during skating. The construction also feels solid and well built overall. The skates can require a break-in period before that comfort fully settles in, though.
These might be good skates for someone else. Couple months in these skates and they are by far the most uncomfortable things I ever put my feet in. It’s to a point I am not even enjoying going on the ice. Unsure if Pro Hockey fitted me wrong or it’s just the skates themselves.
Process was easy from being sized to getting the skates sharpened. Skates are good quality, foot is still growing quickly so just looking for a mid level skate and these were perfect.
I recommend the CCM JetSpeed FT870 Ice Hockey Skates to anyone that’s looking for build quality, agility, robustness and fit. Out of all of these characteristics, fit is primarily important to me and the John from Pure Hockey Tukwila Washington made it happen. A hockey player himself, he knew what works for me. I recommend this skate and the help Pure Hockey gave to put a smile on my face. If I was to rate this from 1-10 I would rate it a 20.
I've had these for about a month now and skate at least 2 to 3 times a week. I'm still a fairly new player but play pretty often. I had them baked the first day they arrived and that made them feel great. Initially, I struggled with getting used to them (coming from bauers) but once I did they have been good. It took a solid 3 weeks of skating to get them broken in and feeling comfortable. Initially, my feet would cramp horribly no matter how I tied my skates. I got some superfeet insoles and they have been amazing ever since. I feel like this is a very solid skate for beer league players who want a good skate without breaking the bank. I'm about 200 lbs and the boot seems stiff enough to hold my weight just fine. Once they were broken in i was able to wear them for 4 hours straight with no issues through stick and puck and 2 games back to back. Would definitely recommend them to anyone not wanting to spend too much on prostock level skates. Also, IW would get 5 stars for getting the skates to me within 2 days and in perfect condition.
