Do not buy the Fly 40 (at least in Jr sizing)
The skate boot is fine, but the tongue is a complete fail at least at the junior size 2. I bought a pair of Bauer Fly 40's for my 9yo. He skates a lot so I wanted to get him a nice skate but didn't want the Flylight boot as I thought it was too stiff for a 72lb kid. He's skated on the skate now for almost 2 months (30+ hours on ice) and the piece of plastic they put in the tongue of the boot is a really bad problem. It's not anatomical and catches on the side of the boot itself not letting him get a full stride. The fly 30 has plain felt tongue, and the flylight has a better tongue as well. If I could get this skate with a different tongue, it would be fine, but Bauer doesn't sell JR sized tongue, and IMO for at least squirt aged kids do NOT buy the fly 40 until Bauer fixes the tongue issue.
