Extra ankle padding is intended for comfort, while the widened toe cap is designed to improve overall fit. The Bauer Elite goalie skates feel light and comfortable, and the fit settles into a natural feel after heat molding. They have also held up without durability issues through prolonged ice use.

Incredible Value
Have been using my Elite skates for several years - 100s of hours of ice time ranging from 18U AAA practice skates to beer league, never any issues at all with durability or performance. Highly recommend these ones. Pros: Versatile, Fast, Durable, Great Fit, Comfortable, Lightweight

Switched from traditional cowling goal skates
Always wore the traditional Bauer white cowling skates for the last 30 years and I was concerned that these would be too different. However, I found them to be lightweight and very comfortable. Had to bake them twice to get the fit right but once I did, they were great! They do make you pads ride a little higher off the ice and that takes some getting used to but overall, I am very happy with this purchase so far. I've only had them for about a month and a half so hopefully these will wear well and stand the test of time. Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Great Fit

Quality Skate
Coming from the old cowling style skates I was a little nervous making the change to a boot skate. The Elites are light and only took a couple skates after baking to feel natural. I've taken a few off the boot and haven't noticed a difference without the cowling. On top of that you stand a little taller in net. The cowling-less skates definitely feel more natural in terms of skating. You'll notice it right away if you have experience skating out. Overall the Elites are a mid price point skate that will be worth it in terms of protection and support for those not wanting to drop pro level dime. Pros: Great Fit, Comfortable, Lightweight
