First Hockey Stick
[Employee of purehockey] Daughters first hockey stick, value to quality is great

The Fischer W270 ABS is an excellent budget-friendly starter stick that delivers impressive durability for the price, making it ideal for beginners, street hockey, and practice. Reviewers praise its old-school design and ability to withstand repeated impacts on concrete and against other sticks. However, some users report the stick runs shorter than typical senior-length sticks and the blade heel can split on hard slap shots.

Great Starter stick and perfect for street/pond hockey with the kids
These are a lot like the old-school sticks from the 80s and 90s. In fact exactly like that they’re had a good price in their excellent practice sticks.
BLUF: Maybe I got the wrong length, but this stick is definitely short and wiggly. Length: I’ll address the elephant in the room. The stick is definitely too short for me. I’m 5 foot eight and I have to shorten my right arm grip to make sure that I can hold onto the stick. If I compare this with some of the other senior length sticks, the senior length sticks are definitely a lot longer. For 30 something dollars, I’m not really going to complain too much about this, but this is just something to know for the future. Blade: When I tap the blade on the ground to signal for a pass, I can feel a lot of extra vibrations that are somewhat unexpected. I’m not saying that the stake needs to feel like steel and have zero vibrations and tapping on the ground, but I always feel like the blade is loose and it’s flexing in odd ways. With the stick being shorter than what I probably should be using, in addition to the blade curve, I have to adjust my usage to ensure that I’m getting proper contact on the street ball. Otherwise, my shots have no power and really just scooping the blade underneath the ball on impact. Durability: As you would expect there to be, the blade is wearing while being used on the streets. However, it does seem to be holding up given that there are multiple layers of wood and some other non-organic material in between. The durability is holding up nicely and seems to be working. Overall: I will opt to try other brands before coming back to the stick when it wears out.
